How Nest Out uses what you send

This page covers NestOutSEWI.com, our forms, texts, emails and the visit itself. We never sell your information or share it for ads.

What we collect

• Your name, phone, email and service address (street and city)
• The service you pick, the day and time you ask for, and any note you type
• Notes about the property, like yard size or where the nest is
• Photos you upload, text or email us, and photos we take at the job
• What we did at the visit: the product used, where and how much, the date and time, and the weather
• Basic technical details our server needs to block spam (the time and your internet address)
• If you agree to get our pre-treatment information by email: the exact wording you agreed to, the time, your internet address and browser, and when you click the confirm link

Why we collect it

To confirm your visit, find the house, treat the problem you hired us for, do a recheck, send your bill, and answer your messages. Wisconsin law also requires us to keep a written record of every pesticide treatment (ATCP 29.21) and to give you a copy of the details (ATCP 29.22).

Off-season requests

When online booking is closed, the "Request a service" form just saves your request so we can call or email you when the season opens. It does not set up a visit or a customer account.

Where it goes

• Requests, job records and photos are stored on the Nest Out server, never on the public website. We never post your address or photos.
• When a request comes in, Nest Out gets a phone alert (through the ntfy app, showing the service and your city, not your street) and an email (through the FormSubmit form service) to our Proton Mail inbox. Nest Out uses Proton Mail for email.
• The address box suggests Wisconsin streets using the Photon map service, so the street you type is sent to it.
• For the weather on a treatment record, we look up the National Weather Service by city only, never by your exact address.
• If you pay by card, Square handles the payment. We never see or store your card number. When we send you an invoice, your name and email go to Square so it can send it.
• Cloudflare protects and delivers the website, so it handles your visit to the site. The page fonts come from Google Fonts.

Cookies

We don't use ad or tracking cookies. The only Nest Out cookie is the owner's login for the business app. Cloudflare may set a short security cookie to block bots, and the booking form remembers in your browser tab that you already sent a request.

How long we keep it

We keep your customer and job records until you ask us to delete them, or until we decide to. Photos stay until Nest Out chooses to keep or delete them for each job. Once a week the server clears out photo files we have already deleted. Pesticide application records are kept at least 2 years, as Wisconsin requires. We keep up to 5 encrypted backup copies so we can recover from a failure. Deleted information can remain in an encrypted backup until those copies are replaced. Backups are used for nothing else.

Pesticide treatment records are different: Wisconsin law says we must keep them for at least 2 years (ATCP 29.21), so we keep those even if you ask us to delete the rest.

Proof of email consent (time, IP, browser) is kept as a compliance record with your customer file.

Your choices

• Ask for a copy of what we have about you, ask us to fix something, or ask us to delete it. Pesticide treatment records and proof of email consent are compliance records and stay with your file.
• Book or ask by phone instead of the form.
• Skip the photo upload. Describing the problem is fine too.
